Print

The Jefferson County Memorial Project (JCMP) is a grassroots coalition composed of more than 35 community partners and a multi-racial, multi-faith, multi-sector, and multi-generational group of committed volunteers. The organization conducts research and educates the public on the history of racial violence, while also advocating and placing historical markers of documented victims of racial terror and violence throughout the city of Birmingham, Alabama.

Every year, JCMP releases a report filled with research compiled by members of their fellowship program. The annual report for 2020 addressed the broken systems of Jefferson County.
